Digicon Corporation is providing the Bar Code Enabled Automated Point of Care Technology solution to the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. This solution strives to improve patient safety at the point of care through positive patient identification and accurate collection times for therapeutic studies and research protocols. The solution also helps to decrease the risk of patient misidentifications and vulnerabilities in the labeling of laboratory specimens and the administration of medications and blood transfusions. The solution interfaces with the Clinical Center's information systems and provides portability to the clinical staff by offering handheld input and scanning devices, portable label printers, workstations on wheels and wireless connectivity.
