CITS II supported the CDC enterprise, the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO’s) IT initiatives, and the Centers’ public health mission. The Northrop Grumman Team supported 45 tasks and 212 work orders, with 1,259 personnel, six small businesses, and more than 20 other companies provided services and technologies for over 300 enterprise-level application systems across five of six CDC offices, nine of ten centers, 19 divisions, and 13 branches. On development and engineering tasks, we applied capability maturity model integration (CMMI) approaches, defined measurable quality elements related to cost, schedule, and deliverables. Our staff were part of a team that won Web Marketing Association’s 2007 Web Award for Best Medical Web Site. Using extensive experience in .NET, ASP in a shared development environment, Visual Basic, and other tools for web-based development, we delivered applications to support administrative, programmatic, and scientific missions, and maintained more than 450 MS SQL server databases in four distinct development environments. We used quality assurance/testing and staging environments to ensure applications were compliant, reliable, and stable before being delivered to production. Our program director served as the single point of contact and was responsible for program oversight, subcontractor management, and technical performance.
