HHS Enterprise Email Initiative

Unisys provided design, implementation, management, and outsourcing services for HHS Mail. Unisys managed nearly 80,000 Microsoft (MS) Exchange email boxes and 12,000 BlackBerry server accounts supporting multiple Operating Divisions (OpDivs) across HHS. HHS Mail is a large, secure, and highly available enterprise email and calendaring solution meeting the varying requirements of each OpDiv. Unisys modernized and standardized HHS' messaging infrastructure meeting their goals of reducing costs, providing consistent and efficient email/calendaring functionality for all users, providing a consistent email address scheme fulfilling the department's communication and collaboration requirements. The HHSMAIL is supported by an advanced storage area network. Unisys managed19 TB of primary exchange storage, and 45 TB of archival space.
