HIPAA Compliant Secure Remote Access for Healthcare Researchers

Govplace designed and successfully piloted a HIPAA and FIPS 140-2 complaint solution for NINDS, which allowed healthcare researchers and administrative staff to work with and protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) while connecting to NIH systems from non-NIH devices. The solution development was offered through ECS III at a significant discount and as planned, the solution allows users to work remotely from any PC or laptop without risking PII. The solution is still in use at NINDS and is currently under evaluation to be offered as a managed service from Govplace in multiple NIH components as well as other healthcare organizations.
