In 2010 Accenture was awarded a contract to implement the Singapore National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) system The National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) program is a multi-year contract to implement a system which provides a holistic view of a patient’s health information, supporting the Singapore Ministry of Health vision, “One Singaporean, One Health Record”. The NEHR system enables key medical information, including patient demographics, allergies, clinical diagnoses, medication history, radiology reports, laboratory investigations and discharge summaries to be exchangeable among healthcare providers. With the NEHR, health care providers have the right information at the right time to make the best care decisions for patients, and patients benefit from proper, right-sited care, disease management and cost savings, as duplicate or unnecessary tests are eliminated and medication errors are reduced. The NEHR will improve the quality of healthcare for citizens, lower the costs of health services, and promote more effective health policies.
