NITAAC 801 certification renewed for fiscal year 2024

NITAAC's 801 Certification for the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisitions has been renewed for fiscal year 2024. We are pleased to continue providing Assisted Acquisitions services to the DoD without the need for a waiver. The DoD has the option of making direct awards on our three Best in Class (BIC) Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) or using our Assisted Acquisitions Services to serve as their Contracting Office to award and administer task or delivery orders on our IT GWACs.

Section 801 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provides guidance on the “procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls” that must be followed to assure compliance with defense procurement requirements, particularly for a nondefense agency when it is performing an assisted acquisition to procure supplies and services on behalf of the DoD. Specifically, Section 801 requires that a nondefense agency can only place an order, make a purchase, or procure services on behalf of the DoD if the nondefense agency has been certified and meets all criteria to comply with defense procurement requirements. NITAAC is certified and meets all criteria.

NITAAC received its first 801 certification for FY22. Read our original Director's Corner article regarding NITAAC's 801 certification here: https://nitaac.nih.gov/resources/articles/nitaac-obtains-801-certification-dod-assisted-acquisitions-now-much-easier.
